Aims

This qualification is regulated by TQUK and undertaken online. It is suitable for learners who wish to develop a knowledge and understanding of the role of a teaching assistant, classroom assistant or support worker in a school environment.

Duration of the qualificationThere is no set time frame for completion of this qualification. Most learners complete the qualification within two to three months. Learners may complete with in a few weeks.

The qualification covers a range of topics including the role of a teaching assistant. legislation relating to supporting teaching, types of school environments, development stages of children and young people and safeguarding.
